Am Donnerstag (29.11.07) haben wir ab 20:00 Uhr zwei spannende Vorträge zur sogenannten Attention Economy im ComMeta Convention Center. Michal Dunaj von den T-Laboratories (T-Labs) spricht zum Thema Technology Brokering, Hauptschalter André Winzer von der Schaltzeit GmbH hält einen Vortrag zum Thema Attention Profiling Markup Language (APML).

APML: Wir hinterlassen mehr und mehr persönliche digitalisierbare Spuren. Wem gehören diese Daten, welche dürfen über uns gesammelt werden? Wer garantiert uns die Datensicherheit? Wie kann man neue Dienste einfach und schnell personalisieren? André Winzer alias Ansgar Wisent (SL-Name) stellt in seinem Vortrag anhand eines Beispiels die neuen Dimensionen, die sich aus einem Einsatz der Attention Profiling Markup Language ergeben, vor.

Technology Brokering: Die Fähigkeit, das erlangte Wissen für eine Organisation dauerhaft verfügbar und leicht zugänglich zu machen, ist ein Kernbestandteil von Knowledge Management. Wie es schon Brian Newman formulierte: “Knowledge Management is the collection of processes that govern the creation, dissemination, and utilization of knowledge“. Aber wie kommt eine Organisation an neues Wissen? Wie kann Innovation fest als Prozess im Unternehmen verankert werden?

Knowledge Brokering – eine mögliche Antwort. Daher freuen wir uns, Michal Dunaj, Experte für Innovation Development bei den Deutsche Telekom Laboratories, begrüßen zu dürfen. Die Deutsche Telekom Laboratories sind ein An-Institut der TU-Berlin, das internationale und interdisziplinäre Forschung und Entwicklung betreibt und das Ziel hat, innovative Prozesse durch eine enge Zusammenarbeit von Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft besser zu gestalten und zu steuern.

Technology brokering is a part of day-to day business of the experts teams in T-Labs, a central R&D unit of DTAG within their interaction in DTAG. So what does it mean from organisation/process management point of view? First, within the autonomous workgroups the soft network is re-established via workers in the roles of active nodes – the knowledge brokers, who overcame the org. boundaries, second the effective linkage is established through involved people implicitly.

It is not only about a virtual functional team as we know from matrix structures. For effective “guest” or “liaison officer” or “a knowledge broker” a critical point is to create the team spirit, which comprises the understanding of the issues and needs of an internal customer, even the access to department-sensitive and sometimes painful discussions.

This would be – if at all – hardly possible via workshops, or other ways formalised interaction means, since these have different function, expectations and results. Paradoxically, a challenge to this tacit (sticky) knowledge transfer appears to be recidivism of hierarchical structures or too much institutionalisation of cross-department cooperation within the corporation.

Michal Dunaj, 32, started with DTAG group in 2001 in Slovakia, held various positions in product management, corporate strategy and in 2006 he joined DT Laboratories in Berlin, Germany, where he now builds up R&D strategy area. Dunaj is responsible for the strategic cross-project portfolio coordination in DT Laboratories, where he also brings together respective DTAG group technology strategy departments.

His current activities root in technology transfer and technology brokering and R&D programme roadmapping. In the meanwhile the potential of enterprise architecture concepts to early innovation processes is explored. He is also writing his thesis on transfer of innovation tools and concepts from Large Enterprise to SMEs.
